Want to chat with a friend about how much you love a song or invite them to a room and watch the show together? You’re in luck! You can now send direct messages on Flymachine and do just that. Read on for all you need to know about DMs!

Start a new direct message from the DM panel
- Click on the direct message icon to open the DM panel, all of your DMs will live here
- Search for a fan using their exact username and hit the plus sign
- Send them a message
- Once they accept your message request, you’ll be able to chat

- From the room or lobby chat, click on a fan’s username to open their profile
- Click the direct message icon to open the DM panel

Invite someone to join you in a room using direct messaging
- Join or create a public or private room
- Open the direct message panel and select the message with the friend you’d like to invite to your room
- Click the 3 dots to the right of their profile
- Click invite to room
- We’ll send them the unique room link via DM and they can click it to join you!
Tips and tricks for direct messages
- Use the command /giphy and type a word to search for sweet gifs
- Hover over messages to react with emojis
- Not loving what someone is saying? Block them.
- Not sure what your username is? Open My Account from your avatar dropdown in the top right
- Want to change your username or profile pic? Update your profile.
- Once started, your DMs will show up any time you join a live event so you can watch with friends every time.
Accept / Decline or Block a new direct message
Any time someone sends a DM for the first time, you can choose to accept or decline it. You can always choose to UNDO this if you want to message the fan again. Want the message to go away entirely? Block the other fan.
DMs can only be sent during live events or rebroadcasts and are not available when watching a replay. Learn more about events with replay.
